I wasn’t even sure whether to post this, because it’s incredibly disturbing. Consider this fair warning: you might not want to watch.

The actual footage I received from Wheezer shows even more than this. I don’t intend to post the rest of it… you know how it ends, and I don’t want to have to see it again. I’m in shock as it is.

And it would be bad enough, but I kind of knew the man in the video… everyone in Piedmont did. We called him “the General” because he was a war veteran. He acted depressed sometimes, but… nothing like this.

I have no idea what the f**k is going on.

I’ve been trying to figure what to do, or what I even can do. I wish I could believe that Wheezer’s video footage was a fake, but like I said: even in the dark, you can recognize the streets where you grew up. And that video is definitely of Piedmont, Utah.

Which means I need to accept that, more likely than not, the reason I can’t reach anyone in Piedmont is because there’s no one left to reach. And if that’s true, I’m not sure what the point of this is. I don’t know what I can do to help my family, or anyone else, that the military can’t do better and faster. As a result, I’ve spent the last 48 hours feeling helpless, powerless and useless.

When I woke up this morning, though, I realized there is still something I can do: I can keep looking for answers. I can refuse to settle for anything less than the whole truth about what happened in Piedmont. And until I find out what that truth is, I will force myself to believe that somehow, my family might still be alive.

More this evening.

I don’t know what to do. I just keep thinking and thinking, and the more I think, the sicker I feel. Every time I close my eyes, I hear that voice: “This town is full of bodies.”

I don’t think I can do this anymore.

I can’t let myself believe that this is real. I can’t. I won’t.

A source who said I should refer to him as Wheezer passed along this video through email. He claims he intercepted it from a secure digital feed coming out of a military command center in Colorado Springs.

If you’re easily upset or spooked, you probably shouldn’t watch this.

I don’t know what to think, or what this means, but I know for a fact that that’s Piedmont in the footage. I recognize the post office, the building to the right after they turn the corner. And if those really are dead bodies, they’re people I know. They’re all people I know, and I can’t even tell who they are.

I’m forcing myself to believe that none of those people are my family…
But they have to be someone’s family. This can’t be real. It can’t be.

Maybe they’re just unconscious, or sick.

They can’t all be dead. That’s too many bodies.

Wheezer’s email says that he got cut off halfway through getting the footage. He says there was more, and promised that he’d send it as soon as he could get it, and get back to a safe location.

But if there is more, I don’t think I want to see it.

Okay, this has gone beyond suspicious. I can believe the phone lines might be down. I can even accept that there was an accidental chemical spill outside of town.

But this is one coincidence too many. Now I’m just getting pissed off.

As promised, my friend called me to fill me in on what happened. Apparently he and his friends made it to within about 25 miles of Piedmont, only to get stopped by armed officials in military vehicles. When he pushed the soldiers for some explanation, they said that it was a standard procedure, but that he wouldn’t be allowed to pass under any conditions.

Apparently he tried to call and tell me what was going on, but wasn’t able to get a signal on his cell phone. (No surprise there, really. No one in Piedmont has a cell phone, because the mountains in the area make it impossible to get reception.) He tried to get a close-up picture of the officials, who threatened to confiscate his phone, or worse, if he didn’t turn around and leave.

At that point, he detoured through a number of back roads, figuring he could just hit Piedmont from another access junction… only to find that similar vehicles were stationed there too. But at least this time, he was able to grab a picture with his phone:

I don’t know what to make of this, but it now looks like some of you are right… the military is involved in this somehow. But what the hell could be going on that results in a military blockade around a nowhere town like Piedmont?

The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that there were so few of them. If it was really serious, wouldn’t there be a larger group of them…?
