New Information & Schematics →← What the hell?!

Another breakthrough at the Wildfire intranet, this time unlocking a file titled “DEATHMATCH,” which seems to have the text of an upsetting recent article from some newswire service. Visit the Wildfire site and check it out; the access code is

MAD HATCHET

The thing is, I don’t know what this article has to do with Wildfire, or whatever is going on. It didn’t take place in Piedmont… and if that police officer had been in Piedmont, it doesn’t seem like he’d have been able to make it as far as Millstown. But he did say he was having a headache…

What interest would Stone’s team have in this article, that makes it important enough to include in the Wildfire database?

Also, a few more of the files Wheezer and Frohz3n passed along turned up in the Wildfire site using additional access codes:

CAPER ONE

and

PROTECT DISSENT

The first loads the video footage of the soldiers who were sent into Piedmont, and the second unlocks Stone’s letter to President Scott with the initial proposal for the Wildfire Project. Still trying other combinations, but I’m running out of ideas…

Comments on “Triple Murder/Suicide...”

  1. Strange, Caper One isn’t an anagram. It’s the call sign for the hummer in the video. How many other files are just simply names?

  2. I’ve been cultivating some of my contacts in your military, and I can reasonably say that for all his problems, Mancheck isn’t the bad guy here. Now, I can’t say anything for certain, however it seems someone in your Government is pulling his strings. Someone in a high position holds the keys to the story, and Mancheck is being purposefully left out of the loop. As to why, I can only suppose.

Speaking from, well shall we say experience, in such things, I would think that some governmental official or officials are wanting to disguise a mistake with project Scoop. Scoop was, as far as my intelligence shows me, a project aimed at collecting data and returning it to earth. However some of my contacts in Pyongyang seem to feel that it was a weapons test that went horribly wrong. They will neither confirm, nor deny that they were involved in the shoot down of Scoop. We do know they have that capability though, having terrorized several of our…weather satellites in the past.

I have been requested to come to the consulate in Washington, my skills are needed there it seems. I have also sought, and received permission from my superiors to funnel you some minor information. I can not guarantee the statements though. It is up to you to decide if what I say is true, or a fiction aimed at distracting you from the true answer.

After all, it’s just business Andrew.

  3. Andrew, you’re slipping.

It’s taken me some time to work this out, but…you’re not who you say you are are you? We’ve been watching you for some time now, and it strikes us odd that now you seem to care less about your little…”sister” who lies dead in Piedmont, and more about what we are up to. I wonder Andrew, if you’re really telling us the truth.

I wonder if your…readers, would be interested to find out that there is no Andrew Tobler from Piedmont. Well, not living anyway.

Andrew Tobler is dead. He died back in 97, and trust me even WE couldn’t fake that kind of information. At the very least we wouldn’t bother.

So…who are you really Andrew, and what stake do you really have in this?

  4. With all the intel i have found it seems there might be multiple breeches of Andromeda outside the quartine area, effects if not near instant death are suicidal and/or homicidal aggressiveness, and extreme paranoia. I have also heard of a second survivor from Piedmont. a infant, unknown reason for suivial againt Andromeda. Maybe it and your Uncle have something in common.

  5. Its just been confirmed by my source that Andromeda is definitely airborne, and that the dead are not infectious. I’ve been getting updates a few minutes apart, either some are defecting from the wildfire protocol or for some reason they’ve been allowed to establish communications or they’ve got topside for some reason, either way I am taking the updates and sending them your way while I can.

  6. This is strange I thought the virus was communicable like the cold but it seems that it can only spread in a certain area, maybe thats the area on the map 12 minutes before and after whatever started the spread of the disease. The red is a contamination/containment zone and anything that enters without proper protective gear gets infected like with the nerve gas soman (which I include due to it’s ability to remain lethal for long periods of time). The one thing I don’t understand is, why is the military actually entering the area so frequently a convoy and multiple squads entering a contaminated area just doesn’t make sense. The military usually would quarantine the known area, get samples for study, and then impose martial law nothing goes in nothing goes out until one of two things happens. The disease dies naturally or a way of expedient decontamination is found. Until then nobody enters or leaves, and thats the final word on the matter as far as the military would be concerned.

  8. Mental instability seems to be a major symptom/sign/problem with Andromeda. After viewing the earlier video of someone in protective gear running the roadblock, I’m afraid this information just confirms that Andromeda probably has broken outside Piedmont. God help us all.

Let’s hope the Wildfire Protocol or at least the Wildfire team can find a solution.

I wonder if there’s any chance members of the team are with us? If they are, I’d like to offer my best wishes. We’re counting on you to find a solution.

  9. Okay, this is really freaky, I live in Utah, but I’ve never heard of Piedmont. Why would a modern-day policeman have a Revolver? wouldn’t he have a pistol?

  10. The report on your uncle stated that he was in severe gastrointestinal distress when he was found; this police report mentions that the cop had an ulcer. Maybe there’s a connection between the stomach problems and how the disease affects you: it kept your uncle and the cop both alive, at least for a while.
