Dr. Angela Noyce →← The Wildfire Intranet

So a lot of you have written, commented and sent me messages with the password, and I can’t believe I missed something so obvious. Wheezer’s last message already gave me the first password I needed to access the Wildfire intranet, and he all but told me that it was the password. He said the threat Stone’s team is fighting has a codename:

ANDROMEDA

Sure enough, when you enter that password into the Wildfire site, it lets you download a file. Can’t understand what everything in it means, but it looks like there are more files archived there, and each one has its own unique access code.

Somehow I’m doubting the remaining passwords will be as easy to figure out as “andromeda,” but with enough of us trying, we’ve got to be able to uncover the others. Whatever is going on in the Wildfire facilities, we all have a right to know about it.

If you get other access codes to work, please tell me, and I’ll post them here.

Comments on “Andromeda”

  1. Ok I guess I’ve tried to many times cause the system now says some random numbers and letters and says SERVER DEACTIVATED HAZARD LEVEL 4

  2. hey get lance to log in on his dads computer and see if his ip address works…the files auto-terminate if its not a known ip….lance is our best bet

    Best of luck,

  3. If you look at the part of the page where all the wording is it says:

    : LOGIN FROM EXTERNAL IP DETECTED.
    : ALL COMMANDS WILL BE LOGGED.
    : AUTO-DECRYPTION DEACTIVATED.

    Auto-decryptian deactivated so Lance will have to try logging on from his dad’s computer. That way we can get that file it says we can download. When he logs in it will auto-decrypt it making it actually readable. Unless anyone can find a way to turn it back on, or decrypt it themselves. When I click it, it gives me the same thing the main page says. Post when you get more information!

  4. OK lets say a virus killed people in piedmont. That wouldn’t make any sense at all because viruses don’t kill, they only destroy all your immune system but they don’t kill you. You die when you have a virus and then you get anythimg like Diarrea, a cold, fever, or anything else.

  5. Hey Andrew, this is pretty freaky stuff going on here.. it’s wonderful to hear your family is alive.

  6. the logging in from his dads computer is a good idea, since an IP is like a ‘house key’ to a server. if you can convince him all the better since a desktop computer, for the most part, cannot tell who is typing on it

  7. Has anyone considered having Lance sign in from his father’s computer? It’s looking for a specific IP. I’d bet, that if that computer had that site on it, then he should be able to access it.

  8. Hm.
    Can’t find anywhere else to input passwords, and unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a directory. So MOS/DOS commands don’t seem to work…

  9. Ive been trying to crack the password safeguard system but with no luck. Who ever these people are they clearly dont want anyone looking into their business. I’ll keep trying!

  10. Okay, so I haven’t found any new passwords, but, when you put in andromeda at the bottom of the page there is a date and time for the new protocols. 20080420.2239 That is 10:39 on the night you friend sent you the picture of the military blocking the road. Just thought I would put it out there incase it sparked an idea in someone.

  11. Anyone have any luck with this? Here’s what I get when I “download” this document:

    // WILDFIRE PROJECT MAINFRAME
    // TERMINAL LOG : echo access.protocol

    > accesscode: ANDROMEDA
    > ACCESS GRANTED

    : LOGIN FROM EXTERNAL IP DETECTED.
    : ALL COMMANDS WILL BE LOGGED.
    : AUTO-DECRYPTION DEACTIVATED.

    ===================================================================================
    .
    . Welcome.
    .
    . You are now logged into the Wildfire Project internal network.
    . All critical progressions will be archived for distribution and examination.
    . Files will not be updated, but successive iterations may be added to the system.
    .
    . Please be advised that Level 5 Security protocols are active.
    . Each file is indexed against a unique access code.
    .
    . No further online assistance is available for this service.
    . In the event of access problems, contact an on-site technician (WFF0713).
    .
    . This connection will now be terminated.
    .
    . EOF
    .
    ===================================================================================

    :
    :
    :
    : CONNECTION TERMINATED.

    // WILDFIRE PROJECT MAINFRAME
    // TERMINAL LOG: echo access.protocol
    // EOF

    I can’t get anything other than this because I’m obviously not thinking correctly. What am I missing? Is this what everyone else is getting?

    I’ve tried all the names I can think of in many different combinations, place names, etc. I even tried your name, Andrew, and I’m not getting anywhere. There should be some central file directory, tree or something that gives us a sort of table of contents yet this seems to just sort of dead end. Come on all you computer geniuses, help out those of us who are not making the connection. Even if you don’t want to “get involved” you can at least give us some ideas.

    On another note: No sign of strange activity here in my area of the Southwest yet, however, I’m still keeping my eyes wide open. We’re not that far from Utah here and we’ve got a strong military presence in our area. Should a call go out for assistance via military channels, we’ll probably start seeing some heightened alert activity. I hope so. Either way, I’m stockpiling water and non-perishable foods, just in case. I figure if things start getting weird, I ought to be able to disappear pretty easily. I’m not exactly what one would call a standout sorta person.

    How are things in your neck of the woods, Andrew? Any strange happenings? Or are you still running off the radar?
