Wheezer? →← Stone's Not On Vacation

Several people sent messages encouraging me to keep looking for a link that connected Dr. Stone to Major Keene… and after two days of digging through the library archives, this is the only thing that has turned up. I’m assuming this is what they wanted me to find:

So Major Keene is not only the hero of the Houston incident, but a distinguished scientist. I’ve never even heard of the virus discussed in this article, but apparently it’s important in the scientific world, and the source of a bitter dispute between Keene and Stone. But I was reluctant to post this, because even if it does show that there’s a history between the two of them, I have no idea what this has to do with Piedmont. Are Stone and Keene both involved, somehow?

I’m getting more and more worried that I’ve been wasting time following dead ends. I don’t see how knowing any of this is going to help me figure out what happened in Piedmont, or what happened to my family.

Comments on “The CD-1 Virus”

  1. Its strange, but i swear I’ve seen DR. Stones face b4…. It’s so familiar, like I’ve seen it over a dozen times…… CD-1 virus eh? Does anyone know what that stands for?

  2. This CD-1 virus is obviously covered in scandal. I hope that it has nothing to do with Piedmont, whether it be one gene or two genes. The fact that this is coming from the immunobiology laboratories and implied to be an ‘infectious disease’ is unsettling. If only you could compare your uncle’s possible symptoms with the effects of the pathogen.

  3. Have you found out anything else about your uncle?

  4. 1st just find out what happened to you uncle, knowing hes alive and seeing him will be very encouraging and nice but maybe he knows whats happening there since he was there/is there.

  5. Hmmm…. for the CD-1 virus to be useful in cancer research. it would have to make a few changes to the host cell that would cause the cancers to form. Couple that with the virus that was mentioned a few posts back and I wonder if this is a manmade strain of superbug designed to attack the body in a totally new way. If the CD-1 virus was genetically modified to make certain changes to the cannabinoid receptors in the victim’s brain, it could account for some of the signs/symptoms seen from the feeds out of Piedmont.
Lord, I hope I’m being paranoid.

  6. Andrew.. I agree.. keep digging.. everything matters..

if something is taken out of context, it looks insignificant.. however.. in the bigger picture.. it may mean alot.. keep digging.. keep ahold of any evidence you got.. I’m sure it will all come out!!!

Let us know what else you find out.. we are all here to help you put the pieces together

  7. Hey, i don’t know how this helps either but you should keep every piece of info close, don’t give up hope!! You’ll figure it out, don’t worry. :-D

  8. Every lead counts man. They may be more useful than you think. Good luck trying to figure it all out.

  9. So so far you’ve got:
    Piedmont -> Mancheck -> Stone -> Keene -> CD-1 virus.
Personally, I think that you should figure out what exactly this virus does. All we know is that it has ’caused major breakthroughs’ in cancer treatments. Figuring out what the virus does should help tell you:
-why Stone and Keene took such an interest in isolating the virus
-why Mancheck was suspected of using it in the Gulf War (at least, I think that’s what he did, I can’t quite remember)
-if Mancheck is likely to be using this virus in Piedmont, and whatever it did caused the people of Piedmont to die, or whatever happened.

I can’t find anything other than a couple of studies on a CD-1 virus, but maybe you’ll have better luck…
