Little Green Men, Meteors & Satellites →← Resuming

Still no word from Nash, but I might have another possible breakthrough.

I was just sent a photo from a reader who claims to have been hiking along a park trail about 20 miles outside of Piedmont two weekends ago, when she got this picture on her cell phone.

At the time, she thought it was just a comet or a falling star… but when she heard about what I’ve been going through, she started to wonder if it was something more.

I’ve been getting so many odd conspiratorial messages lately that I was tempted to write it off as a random snapshot. But then I realized that several of you have written or posted comments to report seeing flashes of light in the sky around the same time, and I checked the metadata in the photo to see when it was taken.

The night before Sam left me the voicemail that started all of this.

So I’m trying to figure out what this means. It’s starting to seem as though whatever happened in Piedmont had something to do with whatever it was that fell from the sky. But I’m not sure what it could have been, and if it were something bigger, like a meteor, there’s no way it wouldn’t have been in the news. Plus, there’s the military, and their attempt — for reasons I can’t yet figure out — to keep the whole thing quiet.

But at least this gives me another possible direction to explore.

  1. if you think other life apart from the one here on earth doesnt exist you must be closed up minded and you should go back to grade school.

thing is there are things out there that do exist sadly people dont want to believe it and think its all fake and lies to live with comfort.

  2. Peruvian Meteor Flu. Same thing happened … what, six months back now, when that meteor crashed on that farm in Peru, and all those people got sick and started dieing, even stock and farm animals. Then the Peruvian Meteorlogical Department showed up and mysteriously every one was fine and they blamed it on mass hysteria and lack of schooling. Boy if that doesn’t sound like the number two cover up excuse of all time, right after the weather balloon story. Coincadentaly, the following winter we have the worst flu season to date with a strain that mutates to fast for a vacine to be any good. For your sake, and really all of our sakes, I hope it’s not.

  3. so if it crashed the night before don’t you think the message would have contained something like “OMG this huge thing crashed last night!” and if it hit and got them all that fast then she would have been out already? I think that some nice person wanted to give a little comfort so they photoshoped a picture made it grany and sed it was from a cell phone and gave it to you to keep your mined busy till something real happened OR it hit and the shock wave knocked everybody down and you sister was not at home at that time

did she call from a cell phone?

I have not yet been able to listen to the recording (no spechers on my pc)so could you type it out so everyone knows what was sed?

if so then maby at night it hit everyone was knocked out and she drove into tow while leaving a voice mail and there was a fire and lots of bodies!

thats my theory or its the first thing I sed

  4. Andrew,

I’ve got some friends that live out in Colorado and one of them, specifically a cadet at USAFA, had mentioned to me a little while ago that while he was stuck on night duty a few days back, he happened to look down the mountain range and noticed some activity in the neighborhood of Cheyenne Mountain. He said he reported it to his CO, thinking it might have been someone or someones attempting to break into the all-but-shut down Air Force facility there. Apparently, his reports fell on deaf ears with claims that he’d been imagining things and what not.

I ignored it before… but, he told me it happened around the tenth or eleventh of this month. It’s been a bit since we had the conversation and I was using a different computer at the time, so I don’t have the AIM logs anymore to give you the exact date. But, if it’s true and that picture is genuine, that would mean the government knew about what’s happening BEFORE impact and had the time to take the Cheyenne Mountain Directorate off of warm stand-by for long enough to track the object’s decent.

    Just some food for thought.

  5. I think that it’s some toxic chemical on a falling satellite that explains what happened. A virus or bacteria just wouldn’t drop people like the military video demonstrated, nor would radiation, unless it was a massive dose like 100,000 rads or more. I think that it’s a chemical from a falling satellite that spread through the town and killed the residents where they stood. A satellite would also explain the statement during the video about “following the signal”. What signal could they get from a UFO?

Mike on April 28th, 2008 at 11:40 am
  6. I agree that the light in the image looks to large to be a comet or meteor. The thought that this could be a satelite coming down is more likely. Just think that when they shot down the spy satelite everyone was worried about the toxic gas that could be emitted if it crashed on earth. What is to say that the government didn’t make up a report stating they really shot it down, when it did acutally crash land near your hometown. That could explain the images in the video you saw as well as why the military showed up in the first place. You got to think if that is a small town what are the chances of a military group just happening across a meteor that hit.

  7. I have been following this blog and honestly, the alien talk is not only creepy, but kind of annoying. I’m all about being tolerant of other peoples ideals and beliefs so if you believe in intelligent life other than on Earth (if you can consider ALL of the people on this planet intelligent) than more power to you. I hope you find the proof you are looking for, but don’t force the fact on other people. Try to be content in believing that what will come will come.

As for the picture, I would bet on a falling satellite or possibly meteorite (small meteor). The news reports about the spy satellite that the Navy was shooting down were airing about a month before all this happened. If you don’t believe me, here is the web address to an article I found and you can see for yourself: http://www.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=35015

Those saying that any “space germs” were burned off upon entering the atmosphere should remember the space shuttle Columbia. I live in Texas and was in the area where much of the debree came down. Every news station, radio station, and newspaper was telling us not to touch it. The extreme heat caused by the friction of re-entry will not kill everything. Some metals/substances can survive the heat until crashing to the surface where they break apart. This would protect the “space germs” and release them upon crashing. I have several family members and friends in various branches of the US military, so unless they have some huge cover-up (for those of you who love conspiracy) every branch of the military from top to bottom would know about it if something truly was wrong. Most likely it is a quarantine and they were first trying to prevent further contamination and now investigating the cause and effect to see if it is still harmful. I ‘m not saying I trust the government, but I do trust the military.

  8. Hey man,

I feel for you. This is some really intense stuff, but it’s great that you’re looking into it.

I agree with what someone else said. This looks really big to be a meteorite. Someone in the government had to have picked it up on radar. NORAD and all that should be easily able to see that sort of thing. I think something must of been on whatever that was that caused whatever it is that is happening in your town. Nothing good.

Matt on April 28th, 2008 at 10:26 am
  9. thats wither really big or really close, and I don’t know which worriesme more

Scott on April 28th, 2008 at 10:16 am
  10. Now we’re getting somewhere! If that picture is something (and there is always a chance of a hoax) then that expands the parameters of what this could be. Something coming down from the sky into the vicinity of the town could follow several theories:

    1) meteor/space debris: but some people who have seen meteors have said they didn’t think it looks similar? Is that what something looks like coming through reentry?
    2) a missile: a short-range rocket of some kind, or even long range? those with military experience might have more of a chance to tell me if that looks similar or not.
    3) alien: yeah, it’s the last one I would put on there, but… there it is. Maybe it is something extra-terrestrial crashing. I would put that as the last choice because, well, it’s the last one that should be considered until further evidence pushes the others out of consideration.

Now the question then becomes, if this isn’t a hoax (and how did someone get that close to take the picture? where did the poster get it? is it fabricated?) then what did that thing do to cause what we saw in the video. I keep remembering the fire in the video and the bodies dropped on the street. So what caused the people to die like that? And what could then survive long enough to put out a signal? It sounds more biological to me, so that narrows this down a little more for me. Still, someone was right: usually something coming out of space can burn up on reentry? That’s what I know from reading too much scifi. People with actual science experience probably know better.

Something like that coming down would also have a record. Though not enough observatories watch the skies, they might have picked something up. Any observatories in your area, college departments, anything? I know it’s in the middle of nowhere, but… what do you think? It’s worth a shot for verification at least.

  11. I agree with Deanna…. kind of

JJ on April 28th, 2008 at 9:55 am
  12. Call me a skeptic, but the alien theory seems highly unlikely. While some people have proved it mathematically impossible that humans are the only intelligent life form in the universe (I agree), it’s also highly unlikely that such life forms would be aware of *us*, not to mention that they would have the means and be close enough to travel to our planet (I would hope we would know about such beings prior to their arrival). My guess is that whatever is in that picture is man-made. The satellite idea seems much more plausible to me.

I’m also iffy on the biological ideas. Whatever is in that picture is awfully bright, and I’m guessing it’s also very hot and would burn up any sort of “space germ” that might be on it. I would lean towards radiation, but you’d think that would be one of the first things the military would check for, and if they’d found it they probably wouldn’t have sent people into the contaminated area, as seen in the video footage.

So what it is, I can’t guess. I suggest you proceed with caution and keep an open mind, but at the same time don’t let emotions and imagination get the best of you.

    Best wishes.

  13. I have seen a lot of things in the night sky, but this doesn’t look like a falling star to me. Those would look more reddish if they were this big. My guess is that it is something like a satellite re-entering the atmosphere. Something looking like that from only 20 miles away must have really shocked everyone who saw it. It likely would have made a big boom and totally lit up the night.

Jen on April 28th, 2008 at 8:32 am
  14. Definitely alien!

Deanna on April 28th, 2008 at 7:48 am
  16. well, it looks to me that its some sort of meteor that contained a material that emitted the poison in piedmont. perhaps the military is trying to secure said material?

StarcraftWOOT on April 28th, 2008 at 7:41 am
  17. Andrew,

I have caught every night of meteor showers since I was a kid and I’ve never seen anything like that. That thing is huge in the sky. Meteors and comets never appear that large to the naked eye. I don’t know what it is… or even if it’s related to what you’ve seen and heard… but that is certainly a bizarre coincidence.

Thom on April 28th, 2008 at 6:57 am
  18. As I said in my response to “blake” and his ridiculous advice to hide out because the government is out to get you: To worry about such things right now is ridiculous. Instead, I would prepare myself for the future and continue to do what you can to discover what happened.

I don’t think going to your hometown will give you much in the way of answers. If the town is closed off, they will not let you in until they’re ready. And if those pictures are real, you don’t want in there anyway.

The picture. What can I say about the picture? If it’s a satellite as has been suggested by some, it could be the cause of a biological contamination or it could be the cause of radioactive or chemical contamination which is causing reactions among those who come into contact with the object’s remains or were under its damage path. Remember when Columbia came down? It left a huge trail of mess behind it, some of it dangerous chemicals and debris.

Instead, do exactly what you have been. Keep digging and posting.

If what I think has happened, we’re ALL in deep trouble and need as much information as you can get us. Keep watching for news from towns around Piedmont (no matter how far away they are) because if what hurt those people is strong enough to take them out while they were out in the streets, there will be news soon.

I wonder if the person who took the photo has had any ill effects? What about your friend who went to Piedmont? Is he O.K.?

Good luck and God bless you and your family. I hope we all aren’t going to need God’s help soon.

Feh on April 28th, 2008 at 6:06 am
  19. If there was something toxic on the falling object, it would explain how everyone died where they stood on the military video. It would explain the heavy military presence blocking off Piedmont because, depending on what this stuff is, it may still be toxic in the town.

Mike on April 28th, 2008 at 5:29 am
  20. That is really strange!!!! This is one of those pictures where you hope it is only a falling star but who know, it could be an alien lifeform of some sort. Afterall, the Pacific Northwest is known to have occurences like that from time to time. Keep this blog up for whatever reason, I need to know what happens.

ryan on April 28th, 2008 at 5:17 am
  21. from what I can tell, it maybe just a comet, but I dont know how fast it was going, and so it might be a damaged satellite or other man made object thats earthbound, I’ll ask around with a friend of mine to see what his ideas are

Jonathan on April 28th, 2008 at 12:32 am
  22. If this photo is legitimate then it’s got to be connected. However your thought: “if it were something bigger, like a meteor, there’s no way it wouldn’t have been in the news.” seems a bit naive to me. I mean… if the item struck close to Piedmont the odds of it being noticed as it fell is slim. I mean… as you said most people have only reported a flash of light. Meaning they saw it peripherally and not directly. This person who took the shot thought nothing of it and most others wouldn’t either. Granted if it were a meteor we would’ve likely known it was coming and it would have been in the news way before it fell. This is more likely to be a satellite given the military’s quick knowledge and response. It may have rained some sort of toxic debris over the area on it’s way down. I wouldn’t panic too much yet until you know more.

So I’m trying to figure out what this means. It’s starting to seem as though whatever happened in Piedmont had something to do with whatever it was that fell from the sky. But I’m not sure what it could have been, and Plus, there’s the military, and their attempt — for reasons I can’t yet figure out — to keep the whole thing quiet.

  23. I was reading the blogs earlier and someone had mentioned the spy sattelite that the U.S. NAVY had shot down. Something falling from the sky might point to being that sattelite. Especially if you consider the fact that when did you hear of the sattelite ever hitting the earth? It was due to hit a long time ago if you remember that may be a reasonable lead to follow.

Garrett on April 27th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
  24. I doubt that the meteor is the problem, but it might have started something. Most diseases that attack the body are capable of dying when hit with extreme heat. There are only a few earth-based diseases that like heat. Not to mention that most viruses survive in damp environments, and rarely live on non-organic areas. So it probably means that viruses aren’t to blame for the deaths of the people of Piedmont. There is the possibility of it unearthing a bunch of poisonous chemicals, or possibly radioactive material. The meteor itself could be a toxic ball of unknown substances. As I said before that heat destroys most organisms, but it is more likely to melt radioactive material or break it apart when entering the atmosphere. This would mean that it would rain down poison onto the area. The only weakness to that one is that if this happened then the plantlife would die also, but that wasn’t true. I dunno what could have killed so many people, and take a week for it to annihilate a town. Because the military is involved, this would mean that the incident was known rather quickly. Could they be testing something and it went out of control, or was it truly alien made. All I know is that I am going to watch out for any funny things happening in my town also. I certainly hope that the incident is just isolated to that town, but if you hear anything about it spreading then let me know.
