Major break? →← Change of plans

Okay, this has gone beyond suspicious. I can believe the phone lines might be down. I can even accept that there was an accidental chemical spill outside of town.

But this is one coincidence too many. Now I’m just getting pissed off.

As promised, my friend called me to fill me in on what happened. Apparently he and his friends made it to within about 25 miles of Piedmont, only to get stopped by armed officials in military vehicles. When he pushed the soldiers for some explanation, they said that it was a standard procedure, but that he wouldn’t be allowed to pass under any conditions.

Apparently he tried to call and tell me what was going on, but wasn’t able to get a signal on his cell phone. (No surprise there, really. No one in Piedmont has a cell phone, because the mountains in the area make it impossible to get reception.) He tried to get a close-up picture of the officials, who threatened to confiscate his phone, or worse, if he didn’t turn around and leave.

At that point, he detoured through a number of back roads, figuring he could just hit Piedmont from another access junction… only to find that similar vehicles were stationed there too. But at least this time, he was able to grab a picture with his phone:

I don’t know what to make of this, but it now looks like some of you are right… the military is involved in this somehow. But what the hell could be going on that results in a military blockade around a nowhere town like Piedmont?

The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that there were so few of them. If it was really serious, wouldn’t there be a larger group of them…?

  1. Whoa, dude. I just saw the commercial… this is all pretty wierd, and it looks real enough, and you seem like a pretty nice, honest guy, but this… it all seems a bit… shakey.
I mean… that shot with the dog broke it for me after reading all this. That can’t be real, can it?
Well, hoax, truth, or half-and-half, I’m in for this.
Whatever it is, it’s riviting, and I bet this will become infamous, one way or another…

Sure is wierd, though. I’m looking up some info myself…

  2. the likely reason there’s so few of them there is they want to keep it under wraps. the less people know, the better they will feel about whatever they’re doing. All i can hope is it is nothing more than a spill that got a little out of control and they cleared out the people in Piedmont. maybe oyur family hasn’t been able to get to a phone.I seriously want it to be just some tiny inconvinionce that will blow over within the next few days…

  3. HEYYYY WHATS UP, DAM THIS IS CRAZY, THE WHOLE SITUATION. HONESTLY THOUGH, ARE YOU NOT AFRAID AT ALL OF THEM DOING SOMETHING TO YOU FOR THIS…HIT ME UP AND LET ME KNOW HOW EVERYTHING IS GOING THOUGH. THE MILITARY IS ALWAYS CONSPIRING WITH SOME BULLSHIT…ROSWELL…AREA 51…THE “KENNEDY CURSE” “MAGIC BULLET”.LMAO, YEA WELL THE TRUTH IS THERE, BUT PEOPLE ARE TOO BLIND TO SEE IT…

  4. It seems as though the chemical spill is in some way related to the military blockade. Government wouldn’t order in military if it wasn’t serious, and [just a conspiracy] maybe they’re who cut the phone lines. Though from what you’ve described a loss of signal isn’t uncommon. I highly highly recommend against investigating on your own, because if they blocked it off its off for a reason. I wouldn’t exactly wait it out either, just do some indirect snooping around. Internet, friends, media… someone’s gotta know something. Keep us posted try different search engines too.

  5. I wouldn’t dismiss the worry based on a small amount of military presence versus a large one. If your friends didn’t make it to the town itself there is no way to know how strong the military presence is in the town itself. I just hope your family is okay.

Griffin on April 20th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
  6. I wouldn’t be so sure about it not being serious. If there’s nothing/no one to keep in and all they need to do is keep people out, they wouldn’t need a big presence. Plus the fact that a big presence could draw unwanted attention. Definately let us know what’s going on.

  7. Are you kidding? Chemical spill? Military blockade?
No doubt anymore, this is a zombie infection. Only the US government would try to use a “chemical spill” in an mining town as a cover.
I sure hope your family got to safe ground before the infection got too bad. Good luck with contacting them!

  8. You got any better pics? The Hummer looks very strange, and the second vehicle is unidentifiable. As it stands, looks like National Guard, rather than regular Army. also, thats not a real containment, but rather a hasty checkpoint at best. With just this to go on, Id suggest the chem spill story is true, and local units got activated to help with clean-up. Being Guard, they dont trust media at all, and assume everyone not local is media, hence your friend’s treatment.

If you do try to sneak in, remember that shotguns and baseball bats are most effective against zombies.

  9. Andrew, hang in there, dude. No one is hurt and there is probably an understandable explanation. Don’t worry. Right now I’m sure this is the last thing you want to hear, but seriously don’t worry! Ogden is fine! Many people go out of contact for a few hours or days and are perfectly fine. Everyone goes out of communication from time to time. Don’t you think that it’s a bit early to get all scared? Anyway, don’t worry.

  10. I would defiantly be curious, man. But, you know how these government conspiracies are…if you aren’t supposed to know about it, you won’t. But, I think you should keep searching. If there is info out there, you can find it. Surely, EVERYONE if Piedmont isn’t dead. SOMEONE can get a message out…and if they can get a message out, you can get one in. Don’t give up!

Kimberly on April 20th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
  11. Man this is crazy. I think that you should do some real spy work on this one. I think that there is a good chance that the military was playing some kind of war game or using some advanced thecnology that crashed. You can never trust a government story such as a chemical spill. More than the military would be there. There would be a bunch of EPA suits and engineers running around. I would be willing to bet some kind of technology was lost and they narrowed their search down to Piedmont. God speed in your quest!

  12. Jim I don’t agree with what you say it’s his f ing family and friends from his home town for god’s sake you can’t just give up everything from your past because the way is dificult he grew up there. Andrew if you or anyone you know are going to try getting through to the town best idea is to get a gas mask and sum kind of night vision goggles. If it is some kind of virus or poison gas those would help. If the military is involved you can be assured it probably isn’t good and you have a right to find out what is wrong with your family and the town like the marine said in a past post “it’s your territory”.

Andrew on April 20th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
  13. dude, it wont make your mind rest easier, but I know that extra terristrial beings have long been trying to locate a non-uniformNo coincidence that the location is near I-196. 196 is the lowest known Lychrel number (its a number that can never re-create a palindrem (sp). Look it up.

Ever wonder why our most famous astronaut was Neil Armstrong? NeilA = Alien

    Im working on this….

  14. I wouldn’t worry about it because the Government and the Military are here to serve and protect us. If there was cause for alarm they will tell us.

    Mr.Black on April 20th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
  15. Are there any woods surrounding the town? Since your friend only tried the roads, maybe you could get through by foot.

That is, only if you’re willing to walk that far.
I’d only do it as a last resort, but you could always consider it a camping trip or something.

Good luck, I hope your family is safe and well.

  16. I’m sure there’s some way you can petition for information on the condition of your hometown to be released to the public. I don’t think that if your friend couldn’t get in, that you can get in.

  18. Saw yur commercial a couple times and couldnt figure out what it was about so i decided to come here. Anyway, if you dont get a reply from your friend in a while, dont just rush in, take it slow. If you can try to get some pictures or get a friend to get some. dont take too much of a risk man, if you go MIA we might never find out whats ong on.

  20. I doubt you could get in by crossing the river by boat or canoe without being seen or heard, maybe you should wait until it blows over, in the end its your choice

Jonathan on April 20th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
  21. I agree with Jim. What if the chemicals have caused some reaction? Like a airborne disease or something? That’s more logical than zombies right? Unless its a virus that causes zombies…

    Stay out man.

  22. If they’re putting up check points at every entry into town you can bet your sweet rear-end they mean business. It might be best to stay back and let these guys keep whatever is inside, inside. Everyone may be deceased by now - so the last thing to do is find out what happened - this is not worth dying for. Get back to your homes and investigate when this is over.

  23. So now it’s military activity? What’s going to happen next UFOs? Man, I’m feeling for you, I just hope it’s not some big problem that can’t be fixed with time. Good Luck, or as the Nords say, “May Loki be with you!”

Soulreleaser on April 20th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
  24. Well what your freind saw was probobly the outside perimeter so i hope im not blowing things out of scale but there is the possibility of a much larger force in and around the town

    Paul H. on April 20th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
  25. i don’t know man. military is military. doesn’t matter how many. your friend could have taken the picture long before more of them showed up. but the details suggest a quarantine…military everywhere, no one allowed in. apparently no one allowed out because we would have heard something, right?? well, needless to say this throws not only the monkey wrench, but the whole damn monkey into your plans.
