So now it's a military thing..? →← Can't keep waiting.

Good news and bad, I guess. I called my friend in Ogden, only to find out that he decided to leave a few hours ago, and doesn’t want to wait around in Salt Lake City for 10 hours until I can get there. He’s got a few friends with him, though, and says that the drive to Piedmont and back shouldn’t take more than a day, roundtrip.

I tried to argue with him, but he said we’re probably both just overreacting, and that he’d contact me the second he gets back.

So this sucks… now it’s back to waiting. I’ll tell all of you as soon as I hear something.

  1. look man. it seems like your friend was in a pretty big hurry to get back there. if he doesn’t contact you, then take that as a hint to do things a little more carefully…with more caution. you don’t need to rush in there full steam, because that’s when accidents happen.

and hey, just in case, keep a recording of your trip. worst come to worst, if something happens, your recording will be out there (radio, tv, notebook). good luck

  2. Doesn’t this friend have a cell phone that he can keep you in constant update with? I’d want him to call me the minute he got to the town line (provided he can even make it that far).

  3. I was driving through Utah yesterday and needed to stop to use the restroom really badly, but it seems that towns with gas stations are few and far between. Finally, I came upon a sign for Piedmont and was relieved that I would finally get to…well be “relieved.” My relief was short-lived, however, as the exit to Piedmont was roadblocked off. I ended up pulling over anyway and taking a whiz on the roadblock and continuing on. From now on, I will always remember that place as “Peed-mont.”

  5. hey its me again, i looked at google maps and looked at the town in the satalite version, and guess what, PIEDMONT IS GONE, its NOT THERE, i would head out there and get your friend stogether and head out there and video tape it and email it to me and i will help you. I have very good deductive reasoning and will try to piece it together to help you reunite with ur family.

  7. Well i don’t know about the whole Resident Evil bit but something is definately wrong with the whole situation. I don’t want to keep repeating the same comments over and over but once you get to Peidmont or close to it don’t let anybody deny you the right to know the truth.
    Best of Luck,

P.S. The sooner state is behind you man

  8. I hope that everything is ok! Hopefully you will hear back from your friend soon! I don’t think there are many cell phone towers in that area, so it might be hard to contact him while he is there! Good luck!!

  9. look its a cover-up one way or the other. something has happened that someone wants everyone else not to know about.that much is certain.however i dont neccesarily think its the government,at least not the government we know anything about anyway. and no not the “men in black” but some sort of covert ops that knew that if this went public some real major heads would roll.think like Umbrella is to resident evil is what ever happened to andrews town is to whoever is trying to cover it up.something you cant even imagine. sorry andrew but i think the worst is yet to come.i pray for your friends.

  10. I can understand a reason why your friend may have wanted to rush out to piedmont but it sounds ill thought of to me. Ad I have a quick question could you possibly reveal some of the information you got in the voicemail from your sister to us? Not to pry into your life but this sounds way to creepy to be true.

  11. My advice, Andrew: Go. Just go, man.

If you’re like me, then I bet the curiosity is just killing you. The anxiety must be eating you up every second. You know you want to know, so find out.

    Go.

  14. thank god. take my advice you dont want to just run in. call your friends immediately and warn them not to do anything hastily. they dont know what they are getting into. if you need any advice or a sympathitic ear e-mail me. dont do anything without first thinking about the consequences first. i am truly now on your side. keep me posted.

  15. Hmm.. Did they seem to be in a hurry?

It seems that way to me - I mean I know they’re worried but the sudden rush seems kind of odd. Especially not wanting to wait for you.

Hope they get back ok. Maybe you’ll have your answer soon enough. :)

  16. so have you heard from your friend in Ogden? well when you do you should post something on what was seen in Piedmount! well anyway my thought and prayers are with you and your family and all the people in the town of Piedmount.

  17. Andrew,
I have a funny feeling that your friend Ogden will not be getting back to you anytime soon. If you do not hear back from them in 24 hours I would start to get worried. Good luck and best wishes.

  18. I don’t like the sound of this, but let’s hope for the best. I think maybe you should call your friend back in a few hours, have him describe what’s going on as he enters the town…I don’t know, I just have a bad feeling. I hope you get this cleared up soon.

  19. Hello Andrew,
Continuing my feeble attempts at research I came across a somewhat disturbing fact. “The (place mentioned) will likely remain the way they have been for countless ages, an isolated pocket of wilderness”. That statement alone gives me a chill. It sounds like the perfect place for “something” to happen. I have read all replys to you and I have to say that the “zombie” theory is laughable. Science and the government, however, are (bluntly speaking) scary!

I’m sorry about your impatient friend. As you say…it sucks. Give him 24 hours and then start packing for your own journey. I hate to think you will be alone in this but I suggest that you rest while you are waiting. You, my friend, are going to need your strength.

I’ll be waiting with you. Good Luck and, hopefully, you’ll hear from him soon.

  20. i think this is all just too weird.why would your friend rush out with out waiting for you? you should stay in constant communication with this guy.just to be on the safe side and to make sure nothin happens to him either.

    good luck

  21. Andrew,
Be careful whatever you decide to do. With all that’s been going on, or rather, that hasn’t been going on, it’s pretty clear that something out of the ordinary is happening in Piedmont.

You had mentioned that it was in harsh mountainous terrain, and I have a theory that perhaps something either landed there (i.e. - a government satellite) or that perhaps something that hasn’t been awakened in a long time is starting to stir again. Afterall, longshot but there are a lot of Native American stories of spirits and such in those areas.

Don’t mind me though, I am probably just letting superstitions get the best of me. It’s not as if Piedmont was Centralia.

I hope all is well though, my thoughts are with you.

    wil327 on April 19th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
  22. If it were a government cover-up, they might try to remove traces of Piedmont from the internet. First of all, I hope your site doesn’t go down, second of all, you might want to conduct a search with a few search engines and on google earth to see if anything comes up. I couldn’t find that chemical spill you mentioned, so they might have gotten to other sources too.
It could be other things besides a cover up. I certainly hope so.

    Good luck!

  23. Hey, I’m always game for a roadtrip. You’ve got my attention. Anyone else out there with me? Chance for a little excitement or adventure in Andrew’s support?

Where’s the closest airport? Anyone with me?

  24. Hi. You might just want to try and keep touch with your friend as much as possible and if you lose connection with him try to find another friend or friends to take you down there. I wish you the best though.
