So now it's a military thing..? →← Can't keep waiting.

Good news and bad, I guess. I called my friend in Ogden, only to find out that he decided to leave a few hours ago, and doesn’t want to wait around in Salt Lake City for 10 hours until I can get there. He’s got a few friends with him, though, and says that the drive to Piedmont and back shouldn’t take more than a day, roundtrip.

I tried to argue with him, but he said we’re probably both just overreacting, and that he’d contact me the second he gets back.

So this sucks… now it’s back to waiting. I’ll tell all of you as soon as I hear something.

  1. So what is the lastest news on the situation at Piedmont?

  2. You need to contact the post office(any post office)and ask if mail is being delivered to your home town. I would also think about calling information and try to get some phone number for the town(like the police and fire dept. and city hall). Try making a collect call to someone you know there. Call the phone company and have them connect you directly to someone there and if they can’t demand to know why. I didn’t really believe all of this until I saw something on T.V. about it. You can also contact any of the millitary that is around that area and they may be able to help you in finding something out. Good luck.

  3. I am a welder and pipefitter by trade. I accidently stumbled onto this website and Piedmont rang a bell. Last summer my company sent a crew of us to Utah to install a new boiler in an abandon manufacturing facility, think it was a farm implement company. It was located just about 5-6 miles from Piedmont. Anyway, there was a lot of work going on there and something that I really didn’t give a second thought about at the time may be something you can use. There was barbed wire at the top of the chainlink fence surrounding the entire facility that was being replaced. What was odd the barbed wire was turned inward, as if to keep people in???? I don’t know. Thought it was odd now though in light of your situation. Good luck to you. Hope you find the answers.

  6. I am totally with Tim on this one. Andrew, if you need anyone to come with you, and I think it would be the safest thing, count me in!

  7. Something fishy is going on…but my best advice is…if you run into ANY sort of trouble…turn around! We have all seen those movies…if you had trouble…the chances of everyone in town running into the same trouble is high also! Best case scenerio you turn around and live to get some help…worse case is your keep trucking through and get killed or worse!

  8. Hey, it’s me again.
You gotta go. Take someone with you, it doesn’t matter if they’re from Piedmont or the surrounding areas, you just need a backup person/meat shield if something happens to you. I think about 75% of us are all voting for you to go, and you definitely should. Don’t wait for your friend to come back– ten to one he’s dead already. (Bit of an idiotic move on his part, in my opinion.)

  9. look man. it seems like your friend was in a pretty big hurry to get back there. if he doesn’t contact you, then take that as a hint to do things a little more carefully…with more caution. you don’t need to rush in there full steam, because that’s when accidents happen.

and hey, just in case, keep a recording of your trip. worst come to worst, if something happens, your recording will be out there (radio, tv, notebook). good luck

  10. Doesn’t this friend have a cell phone that he can keep you in constant update with? I’d want him to call me the minute he got to the town line (provided he can even make it that far).

  11. I was driving through Utah yesterday and needed to stop to use the restroom really badly, but it seems that towns with gas stations are few and far between. Finally, I came upon a sign for Piedmont and was relieved that I would finally get to…well be “relieved.” My relief was short-lived, however, as the exit to Piedmont was roadblocked off. I ended up pulling over anyway and taking a whiz on the roadblock and continuing on. From now on, I will always remember that place as “Peed-mont.”

  13. hey its me again, i looked at google maps and looked at the town in the satalite version, and guess what, PIEDMONT IS GONE, its NOT THERE, i would head out there and get your friend stogether and head out there and video tape it and email it to me and i will help you. I have very good deductive reasoning and will try to piece it together to help you reunite with ur family.

  15. Well i don’t know about the whole Resident Evil bit but something is definately wrong with the whole situation. I don’t want to keep repeating the same comments over and over but once you get to Peidmont or close to it don’t let anybody deny you the right to know the truth.
    Best of Luck,
    Matt from Tulsa,Ok
P.S. The sooner state is behind you man

  16. I hope that everything is ok! Hopefully you will hear back from your friend soon! I don’t think there are many cell phone towers in that area, so it might be hard to contact him while he is there! Good luck!!

  17. look its a cover-up one way or the other. something has happened that someone wants everyone else not to know about.that much is certain.however i dont neccesarily think its the government,at least not the government we know anything about anyway. and no not the “men in black” but some sort of covert ops that knew that if this went public some real major heads would roll.think like Umbrella is to resident evil is what ever happened to andrews town is to whoever is trying to cover it up.something you cant even imagine. sorry andrew but i think the worst is yet to come.i pray for your friends.

Jon Mac on April 19th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
  18. I can understand a reason why your friend may have wanted to rush out to piedmont but it sounds ill thought of to me. Ad I have a quick question could you possibly reveal some of the information you got in the voicemail from your sister to us? Not to pry into your life but this sounds way to creepy to be true.

Andrew on April 19th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
  19. My advice, Andrew: Go. Just go, man.

If you’re like me, then I bet the curiosity is just killing you. The anxiety must be eating you up every second. You know you want to know, so find out.

    Go.

Cory on April 19th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
  20. so what is the deal there is obviously no such place as piedmont in utah or an i 196 through that state so are you making a movie or is this some kind of a school project just would like to know

  22. thank god. take my advice you dont want to just run in. call your friends immediately and warn them not to do anything hastily. they dont know what they are getting into. if you need any advice or a sympathitic ear e-mail me. dont do anything without first thinking about the consequences first. i am truly now on your side. keep me posted.

Jon Mac on April 19th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
  23. Hmm.. Did they seem to be in a hurry?

It seems that way to me - I mean I know they’re worried but the sudden rush seems kind of odd. Especially not wanting to wait for you.

Hope they get back ok. Maybe you’ll have your answer soon enough. :)

Alana on April 19th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
