I don’t know what else to do, so I’ve been searching Google every couple of hours for news related to Piedmont and southeast Utah. Nothing for the last couple days, but I just got an e-mail alert that led me to this traffic bulletin from Millstown, which is the closest major town in the area:

chemicalspill

This could be a coincidence. It probably is. And if something really were wrong, then (like a lot of you have pointed out) wouldn’t there be some sign of it in the news? But it’s been almost a week now…

Comments on “Chemical Spill?”

  1. Good Morning Andrew,
I’ve been doing a bit of research and from what I have determined your small town of Piedmont must be very self-reliant indeed. It’s location is extremely rugged and off the beaten path, so to speak. I’m wondering if, perhaps, the government isn’t taking a new interest in your area? By your own admittance, Piedmont is an old mineing town. Possibly “yellowcake” is still as much as an attraction as it used to be, maybe even more so now. I advise caution, Andrew, some will stop at nothing to get what they want. Chemical spill? Well, that is one way to clear an area, I wonder what will be next……and how it will be done.
You must get there, your family is at stake.
    I’ll keep looking. Good Luck!

  2. Oh man…problems! Followed your blog and am east of St. George. Thought the area was familar, so loaded my dirt bike in my 4X4 and headed out. Desolate! Had to turn back after the second night out. Those sounds and lights in the night sky…definitely not helicopters! Really eeire, and not just in the sky, sounds all around, not animals, more like scraping. Something (or someone) being buried? I haven’t slept for a couple of days. Can’t go back alone. I might try again, but need backup. Anybody?

  3. Chemical spill reroutes vehicles headed to Piedmont from UT-196 to route 46 . Heres my confusion , You said in your entry ” Still
nothing ” : ” One main road “?! Does this mean theres other small roads in or is this realy a one road town ? I think its all to convenient as well . Something screams cover up to me .

I say go home . Take the roads as close as you can to Piedmont , come in from the northeast . Keep the mountains between you and Piedmont .

I remember you mentioned the Henry river in your description of your town . Does the Henry river run through your town ? If so that seems like a perfect way to make entry into the town .

Keep us updated . Goood luck to you Andrew , God Speed .

  4. Hey Andrew, is your home town near any big forests? I ask because I was up near that part of Utah, and i got redirected due to that chemical spill, but while I was in the crawl I heard a state troopers radio say something about a wildfire. Would your town have been evacuated if that was the case?

  5. Andrew if its as bad as it sounds i wouldnt plan any road trip anytime soon.you dont want to get involved in something you cant get out of. call the closest town or city authorities and find something out.also what all did the report say.was there any strange activity near the spill site. and for all you know what ever happened to piedmont could have easily spilled over into millstown and who knows where it could go from there.last thing the world needs is a massive zombie attack or something like that. and i still think your dealing with zombies. that sound at the end of the voicemail sounded very disturbing and well very undead like.keep us posted.

  6. You should really let people know around your university about your situation and they could financially assist you to get home. Take someone with you, contact the Utah State Police and have them accompany you to Piedmont. That would solve several problems, not the least of which would be you going there alone and coming up missing along with the rest of the town.

  7. Man I don’t want to just jump to conclusions either, but I think it’s time for you to quit calling all these things coincidences…of course it could be, but all these things are unlikely enough that you really should to head towards your home to make sure. I say leave tomorrow, get as close as you can and just try and find out anything you can.

  8. Hhmmm…A chemical spill just seems to convenient. But maybe it’s no coincedence. But why such a small town in the middle of no where? Maybe it’s a testing ground for something…inhuman…

  9. There is not a Piedmont on any map. At least…not the one you’re looking for. In fact, you won’t find much about the city unless you know who to ask. However, bit of advice here. Don’t go asking too many questions. You really don’t want to draw too much attention to yourself right now. Right now, you want to just sit down and wait. The truth will come in due time, but you don’t need to go digging too far. Trust me when I say that.

  10. e. I disagree, if piedmont is like you say, a small isolated town, who else would know about any strange going-ons there besides the people living their, who appear to be incapacitated.

  11. Remember what I said about it’s not really a conspiracy until the news starts getting doctored? Something’s is definitely going on and it’s not just that chemical spill. They’re not releasing ‘real’ news because where are the details? Where are the news reports? Why haven’t any of the stations picked this up?

Welcome to the Conspiracy, my friend.

I can’t tell you here but this is not a hoax. The noises give it away, I’ve heard them before.

  13. Hi everyone. Listen, Andrew…maybe something happened to your end, not their’s. Have you tried calling from multiple places?

Morgan on April 18th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
  14. Donna you may have a point, so i agree. But you dont know if the chemical spill in itself is to cover something up.oh geez didnt ummm… kat say she was going to utah tomorrow? she may have a slight problem. also if you havent gone up their by the summer andrew i will be going with my dad no matter what any one says. i also want to disagree with the zombies statement because you know thats a very absurd idea, oh well ttyl! good luck and you and your family are in my prayers

  15. Hmmm,
I’ve just been listening to that voicemail. A lot of people are saying that they hear gun shots and growling and dogs barking or something. To me, though, it sounds like some sort of interference, like wind blowing. I hear foot steps. Sounds like high heels, just when your sister says hi to your mom. They seem to be stumbling, as though your mother is having a hard time walking. The sound I am curious about is the beeping. Not when the phone cuts out…before that. It’s like a dee-dle dee-dle sound near the end. Is that the phone batteries or something?

Anyway, the stumbling sound of the footsteps tells me that your mother was experiencing some trauma, but your sister’s scream at the end was not one of concern, it was one of horror and terror.

If she was simply on the verge of passing out, I hate to say this, but you still have something to worry about. From the sound of that scream, the fall may have resulted in a severe injury.

Government conspiracies involving zombies and plagues and such almost never happen in real life. However, a friend of mine who pointed me to this blog seems to think he might have heard something related to this. He was making a delivery at some TV news studio or something, and he overheard something about Southern Utah and NASA. It’s probably nothing, but I wonder if it has anything to do that streak of light that people say was seen over those parts. Really, though, what type of chemical spill involves NASA?

  16. Andrew…

This is a seriously scary situation and I’m hoping for your sake you come up with some answers. I’m not near Piedmont but I have a friend or two near there who were turned away onto 46…

They were actually going to visit 46, the only thing is they said they saw no sign of a chemical truck or any other visual evidence.

You now have my email if you come up with anything or you need any help bro.

  17. Hrmm. I’m not so sure now. Chemical spills are dangerous… does it say when it happened? Did it happen before you got the phone call or after. It said it was posted 35 minutes before you got it… which leads me to believe that it was after.

Do you think you could post the rest of the article? The clues will be in the details.

    Josh A on April 18th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
  18. Yeah, nowadays something like that would’ve spread to the news groups like a wildfire. Have you still not been able to get anyone on the phone?

Wyatt on April 18th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
  19. Maybe that is it… Maybe the town had to be evacuated because of the spill? And they haven’t been able to tell anyone?

    Aaaand cue conspiracy theories.

  20. Dear Andrew,
This is a bit too much to be a coincidence… i agree though, you’d think something would be on the news… this is definately really strange. Just try to stay positive, you dont know anything for sure yet, and as hard as it is, dont jump to conclusions and worry yourself further. Id be feeling the same as you though, i am so close to my family and if i cant get hold of them for any one day i freak out, and i cannot imagine how you must be feeling after a week.
I am trying to do any research i can and if i can find out anything that may help you ill let you know… I have some contacts that i may be able to press for info… dont know how far ill get but ill try for you mate. As for Piedmont not being on any maps or no one knowing if it was a “real” town, i just had someone I know well confirm for me that there IS a piedmont in Utah… i doubt theyd be wrong cos they lived near there…. and theyd hardly mention a piedmont in a bulletein like the one you found here, if it wasnt a real place… and if they were trying to conver it up they wouldnt mention the town either… its so confusing and strange.
i wish i could help you… this chemical spill thing just seems to convinient not to investigate further… do you know anyone in Millstown? Have you contacted the Police there? I hope you hear something soon, You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I
Take care and dont give up Andrew.
    Best Wishes,
    Donna

  22. Well, so much for my idea of driving home. Sorry, man, this is sounding weird. Plus I just saw that comment on your first post about flights to that area being canceled.

If I were you, I’d still grab a buddy and road trip it to SLC, you’d be closer, a
