Can't keep waiting. →← Distractions

I don’t know what else to do, so I’ve been searching Google every couple of hours for news related to Piedmont and southeast Utah. Nothing for the last couple days, but I just got an e-mail alert that led me to this traffic bulletin from Millstown, which is the closest major town in the area:

chemicalspill

This could be a coincidence. It probably is. And if something really were wrong, then (like a lot of you have pointed out) wouldn’t there be some sign of it in the news? But it’s been almost a week now…

Comments on “Chemical Spill?”

  1. A chemical spill could have happened right before you even recieved the voicemail. They could have tried to keep it quiet and it just popped up now because it got out. But why isn’t any one worried about the effing spill? They should have evacuated everyone from nearby towns suchas Piedmont; and they should have gotten a hold of you by now. If they aren’t even letting airplanes enter, that means they don’t want anyone to see what’s going on. I think the Government did something and they’re trying to fix it; They caused the spill or something, but thats bad for the earth, it could erode the earth, whatever, DONT travel there are you crazy ? just wait it out; try to find out whats going on; If you go there, and explain your story, you could get like in trouble or something for holding a piece of information on your voice mail. Don’t fret, everything will be fine. But its not coincidence.

  2. Hmm, there could be some kind of conspiracy going on here. But let’s think horses before zebras for a moment: if that chemical spill has anything to do with the lack of communication from your town, it’s possible that the military’s presence is part of an emergency evacuation or a quarentine. I’m not saying it’s the only explaination, or the best, it just seems to me to be the most logical assumption to make until we get more information.

In the mean time, I’d suggest that you stay put and work on getting all the information you can. I understand that you’re worried about your family - I know that fear quite personally myself - but it’s important to remember your own safety. If you go rushing in there with no idea what to expect and get hurt (or KILLED) you’ll be leaving your family and friends with a lot of pain - it’s like running into a burning building without knowing if anyone even needs rescuing.

I wish you the best of luck, Andrew Tobler.

  3. What about postal service in and out of town? Is there a mail delivery, UPS, etc.? Looks like they would know if they can’t deliver there anymore.

Hope all works out well for you.

  4. I managed to find rt. 196 in Utah, but can’t seem to find either Millstown or rt. 46. Do any streams, creeks, or rivers cross rt. 196 close to Piedmont?

  5. Drew you need to stop waiting and head on out to Piedmont. Be careful though because it sounds like something is being covered up. I mean you can’t get in contact with your family and there hasn’t been much news about what’s going on there so something could be very wrong.

  6. I keep thinking this is some type of hoax, but I realized maybe it isn’t since my local news station put a link to this site on their webpage.

So as far as I understand, your hometown has just ‘dissapeared’? How strange and disturbing. I have only been to Utah once but I understand where the general location of your town is. How odd.

I guess if I were in your shoes, I’d hop on a bus or in my car and start driving…and maybe even calling the police stations for surrounding towns. I hope that you’re not playing all of us for fools, because if this really did happen, what’s going on is one hell of a cover-up. I’d also start a rotation of phone calls - every day, at a certain time, call five or six numbers that you have, in the same order.

I am perplexed by this. It piques my interest very much.

  7. I think its interesting that a lot of people are getting into this… is everyone sure it’s real?
Listening to the voice message I’m unsure.
The message seems scripted.. and the “oh hey mom!”
You’d said she was a teen and spent her time just in her room not being social with her family much (as teens do) and so it just makes it seem out of character that she would greet her that way.
And at the end, a whole lot of rusting with chairs is what it seems to me….
    I don’t know.

  8. Wow. I just found this blog surfing the internet. I really hope everything is alright. I’ve read everything and it sounds pretty freakin’ scary. So far, I don’t know how you haven’t died of worry yet, ’cause I totally would.=) I’ll keep reading, talk to you soon.

  9. Wow, this is REALLY suspicious. First phone calls to piedmont cant go through, then a “chemical spill” is redirecting cars to turn away from piedmont, and someone else’s post said that flights there are being canceled. I might be jumping to conclusions, but it seems to me that something happened in piedmont that the government doesn’t want the public to know about, it might not even be the government that is preventing people from going there. Stuff like zombies and vampires seems a little farfetched, but i have a feeling something definintly happened there and someone doesn’t want anyone else to find out…

best of luck man, and i hope im wrong…

  10. I was just sitting here thinking about this, and had an interesting thought. Take a look here: http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/missions/mars_samplereturn_000929.html - There were plans for a martian soil sample to be returned to earth, but apparently got scrubbed. If it hadn’t, it would have landed in Utah in April this year … government conspiracies being what they are, wonder if the mission hadn’t gone ahead anyway?

  11. Andrew,

I seriously doubt that any chemical spill is a conicidence. As others have pointed out in many intelligent and some un thought out ways, there is something big going on in Piedmont. And not the good type of ’something’.
Sorry, buddy, but it is time to wake up and smell the coffee…this is NO COINCIDENCE! There is definately a huge government coverup going on here. A town goes dark, there is no reports from the news, and NOW a chemical spill? It’s all WAY to convinent…
Now, when you are dealing with a government, especially the American government, you need to play things safe. FIst off, you DO NOT want to draw attention to the fact you suspect anything. Matter of fact, everybody post on this blog could be in danger of silencing. But this is a risk one must take if on wants things done, eh? My suggestion: plan this out before deciding. You need to find an alternate route, suppiles, a Sat. Phone for communicating with your friends outside of Piedmont. DON’T BE FOOLISH, I’m sure NONE of use here want to see you hurt. So, good luck, my friend, you will need it.

  12. Hey, just wanted to say you have my support, and ill be doint some research myself and will be checking back here very often. Just a heads up that if this site is taken down or blocked for any reason, then you may have an even greater chance that something is going on. if the government is trying to cover something up, then they will hit the internet hard. good luck and youll be in my payers.

  13. Good Morning Andrew,
I’ve been doing a bit of research and from what I have determined your small town of Piedmont must be very self-reliant indeed. It’s location is extremely rugged and off the beaten path, so to speak. I’m wondering if, perhaps, the government isn’t taking a new interest in your area? By your own admittance, Piedmont is an old mineing town. Possibly “yellowcake” is still as much as an attraction as it used to be, maybe even more so now. I advise caution, Andrew, some will stop at nothing to get what they want. Chemical spill? Well, that is one way to clear an area, I wonder what will be next……and how it will be done.
You must get there, your family is at stake.
    I’ll keep looking. Good Luck!

  14. Oh man…problems! Followed your blog and am east of St. George. Thought the area was familar, so loaded my dirt bike in my 4X4 and headed out. Desolate! Had to turn back after the second night out. Those sounds and lights in the night sky…definitely not helicopters! Really eeire, and not just in the sky, sounds all around, not animals, more like scraping. Something (or someone) being buried? I haven’t slept for a couple of days. Can’t go back alone. I might try again, but need backup. Anybody?

  15. Chemical spill reroutes vehicles headed to Piedmont from UT-196 to route 46 . Heres my confusion , You said in your entry ” Still
nothing ” : ” One main road “?! Does this mean theres other small roads in or is this realy a one road town ? I think its all to convenient as well . Something screams cover up to me .

I say go home . Take the roads as close as you can to Piedmont , come in from the northeast . Keep the mountains between you and Piedmont .

I remember you mentioned the Henry river in your description of your town . Does the Henry river run through your town ? If so that seems like a perfect way to make entry into the town .

Keep us updated . Goood luck to you Andrew , God Speed .

  16. Hey Andrew, is your home town near any big forests? I ask because I was up near that part of Utah, and i got redirected due to that chemical spill, but while I was in the crawl I heard a state troopers radio say something about a wildfire. Would your town have been evacuated if that was the case?
